Make your Will. Support Isabel Hospice.
This October, Anvoner Law is proud to be supporting Isabel Hospice’s Make a Will Month, giving local people the opportunity to put an important piece of planning in place while supporting a charity that does so much for families across our community.
During Make a Will Month, we will waive our usual fee for preparing a basic single Will or pair of basic mirror Wills. Instead, you will be invited to make a donation directly to Isabel Hospice.
It means you can take care of something that may have been sitting on your to-do list for a while, while helping Isabel Hospice continue providing vital palliative and end-of-life care to patients and families across eastern Hertfordshire.

Why making a Will matters
A Will gives you the opportunity to clearly set out what you would like to happen to your estate when you die.
Without a valid Will, your estate will be distributed according to the rules of intestacy. Those rules determine who is entitled to inherit and may not reflect what you would have chosen yourself.
Making a Will can help you:
- Decide who you would like to inherit from your estate
- Choose the people you trust to act as your Executors
- Make provision for children or other people who are important to you
- Record wishes about particular possessions or gifts
- Give you greater confidence that your wishes have been properly considered
It can also make things clearer for the people you leave behind at what will already be a difficult time.
Already have a Will?
Make a Will Month isn’t necessarily only for people making their first Will.
Life changes, and your Will should keep up with it.
Marriage, divorce, a new relationship, children or grandchildren, moving home, changes to your finances or the death of someone named in your existing Will can all be reasons to look at your arrangements again.
If it has been several years since you made your Will, this can be a useful opportunity to consider whether it still reflects your circumstances and wishes.
How does Make a Will Month work?
Taking part is simple.

We’ll arrange an appointment to discuss your circumstances and the wishes you would like reflected in your Will.
For qualifying basic Wills, we will waive our usual Will-writing fee. Instead, you will be invited to make a donation to Isabel Hospice.
Appointments are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis, so we recommend getting in touch as soon as possible if you would like to take part.
What if my Will isn’t straightforward?
Every family and estate is different.
Make a Will Month covers basic single and basic mirror Wills. If, after speaking with you, we believe your circumstances require more detailed advice or a more complex Will, we’ll explain this to you before any additional work is undertaken.
The important thing is that the Will you put in place is right for your circumstances rather than simply fitting a standard template.
Supporting Isabel Hospice
Isabel Hospice provides palliative and end-of-life care and support to patients and families across eastern Hertfordshire.
Make a Will Month brings together local solicitors and Will writers who donate their professional time, allowing the money that would ordinarily be spent on their basic Will-writing fee to instead support the Hospice’s work.
We’re very pleased to be supporting the initiative again and to give our clients another way to support such an important organisation within our local community.
