Helen Westbrook

When Helen’s solicitor husband sadly died just as she was reaching retirement age and thinking about retiring from working in his practice, she was recommended to us as maternity cover, and came to us for a year as a legal secretary. The baby who was due is now at university, but Helen is still here! Nobody likes to ask her age, but she does have some entertaining anecdotes from the Boer War.

In her free time, over the years she has been active in amateur dramatics, has written and edited a community magazine, has written children’s stories as a freelance writer, and is currently the secretary of the freehold and management company of the block of flats in Finchley where she lives. She loves puzzles and handiwork, and is a voracious reader.
